Follow a bill. Members get one email per hour at most when a bill they follow moves in committee, passes a house, is amended, reaches the governor, is signed or is vetoed. Press Follow beside a bill and sign in with your membership email, or become a member. Manage the bills you follow.

Bills and resolutions come from the NY Senate’s Open Legislation data, which covers every session since 2009–10. Resolutions honor, commemorate or state a position and never become law; the Type filter separates them.

Status is the latest stage Open Legislation records for the bill. Each chamber prints its own copy of most bills, so when one chamber’s copy passes and is substituted, its twin in the other chamber usually stops in committee or on the floor. The 79.9% committee share counts both copies.

Sponsor is the prime sponsor on the bill. Committee is the committee the bill sits in or last sat in; bills the source lists with no committee show as “No committee”. Chapter is the chapter number the law received when the governor signed it.
