The short version

NYCuriosity's sites do not have user accounts, do not sell data, and collect as little as possible. The Shareout app touches only the owner's own social media accounts.

Websites

data.nycuriosity.com is a static site. Standard web server logs (IP address, pages requested) are processed by the hosting providers, GitHub Pages and Cloudflare, under their own policies. The site sets no advertising cookies.

Membership is handled by Buy Me a Coffee and Cloudflare Access; members' email addresses are used only to grant access to member content and for the alert emails members sign up for, and are never shared or sold.

The newsletter itself runs on Substack, under Substack's privacy policy.

The Shareout app

The NYCuriosity Shareout app connects to social platforms (including TikTok) through their official APIs, with the account owner's explicit authorization, solely to publish the owner's own posts and videos to the owner's own accounts.

The app stores its authorization tokens locally on the owner's computer. It does not collect, store, or share any information about any other user of any platform. Authorization can be revoked at any time in each platform's settings.
